Christa Pfleeger is a photographer and director based in California. She has been taking photographs for as long as she can remember, drawn early on to moments that feel real rather than staged. That instinct eventually led her to ArtCenter College of Design and into a career that began in the surf world, where light, movement, and authenticity shaped the way she sees and works.
Her photography is rooted in presence. Christa is interested in images that allow people to feel like they’re inside a moment, work that holds emotion without forcing it. She gravitates toward honest experiences, whether expansive or quiet, and approaches each project with curiosity and care.
Christa’s creative life is deeply tied to home and family. She lives on a ranch with her husband and two children, surrounded by too many animals, where they run Lonely Palm Ranch, a family art project centered around making hand silk-screened calendars and other small, thoughtful objects.
Over the past two decades, Christa has continued to build a body of work that reflects both her personal life and professional experience. She was selected as one of PDN’s 30 Under 30 at age 25 and currently shoots alongside her daughter, Wesley, as part of an ongoing creative collaboration called The Pfleegers.
