Alex Farnum is a West Coast based commercial and editorial photographer specializing in the art of storytelling. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where he gained his first love of light and all of its beautiful nuances. He eventually moved to and landed in San Francisco where he has made his home with his wife, Nicole. From the moment he came into this world, Alex has not stopped seeking out all the curiosities that life has to offer, and his work is a reflection of that curiosity and love of life. For him, photography was a way to show that awe of life and of light. Whether it is for the stories - stories of people, of travels, of food, and all that goes along with those experiences - or it is shooting a portrait, Alex strives to show an authenticity of experience and to show it beautifully. He shoots regularly for magazines such as TIME, GQ, Field and Stream and Maxim; and his advertising clients include brands such as Google, Coca-Cola, EBAY, Reebok, Westin Resorts and NetJets. Alex is also a regular contributor to the book publishers Chronicle Books and TenSpeed Press.
